Lemon Butter in TMX.
I bought some Laucke, Sprouted Wheat flour. Bread a bit heavy. Tastes ok. Next time will make it with 1/2 white flour.

That bread sounds nice Chookie. I’ve never tried anything like that.

DH often makes sprouted wheat bread, Chookie and it is always nice, but I don't know what proportions he uses in the mix.

I’ve had a busy day cooking for the kids’ monthly arrival. Beef stroganoff with veggies for SIL, roasted veggie pasta for DD, a couple of cheese/garlicky French breads and a batch of custard.
My cook up is only once a month so I rather enjoy it and always get given positive comments.

I made another batch of Chookie’s Hot Cross Buns. DD took some of yesterdays in to her friends at work. They loved them.

That’s lovely Judy.
Cookie, glad they enjoyed them. Nice gesture.
I made 13 jars of Apple jelly yesterday. That was 3 lots in the TMX. Once the formula is set with the first lot, it is easily repeated in subsequent lots.
Also made garlic butter to keep in fridge. Again in TMX. Cooked garlic in a little olive oil them added butter, parsley and chives. Used 500 g. Butter and 8 large cloves of fresh garlic.

Yesterday it was lentil soup, today, because I found an unusually fresh looking swede in the supermarket, it will be scotch broth - does that sound like winter cooking to you?????

I made a tea loaf yesterday. I soaked the fruit in hot tea overnight. I used orange and cinnamon tea bags that were in a hamper I won some time ago. It’s very tasty.

I also made Helene’s answer to the 5 seed bread. I’d forgotten how soft it was.

I e been having a bit of trouble with my white SD starter. I decided to reboot it. It all seemed to be going well. However today I used it to make a Classic loaf. The loaf rose but not as much as usual. Lucky my rye SD starter is still very happy.
