Had visitors from interstate today - served them Pipe Loaf,  Honey Mustard Chicken Crepes, Jacket Potatoes with sour cream and a lovely Rocket, Pear & Parmesan salad from Nico Moretti's book Cooking Passions.  Dessert was Polish Cheesecake and Cherry Bites.

Very small eaters, plenty of dessert left over. I find it amazing how few men actually eat dessert (or salad for that matter).

Well, if I was there I would have eaten it all!!

Everyone's cooking sounds and looks wonderful. I've been a little slack in the kitchen lately, because of the heat. But recently I've made:

Madras Lamb Curry - I'm never going to put cinnamon quills in the Thermomix again! I had to pick out all the little bits. Will just use ground cinnamon in future!!
Vegetable Tikka from EDC - remembered the issue with whole spices added at the end in this one and chose to use ground.
Brown Rice Salad
Chocolate Puddings
Pumpkin Dip
Banana Muffins
Bread

I've got loads of leftovers to use up in the fridge and DH is away for a couple of nights, so won't be doing much cooking this long weekend.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Oh, they look just gorgeous!

Sweet little heart shapes - I shall embarrass my boys when they're older by putting things like that in their lunch boxes.

Today I've been making oreos

Yum - bigger AND better than the real thing!

I'm not 100% sure as yet but Sunday's are my big cooking day for the week for school and work. Might try the chickpea choc chip cookies and the bimby chocolate cake. Going to have kfc chicken for tea with the yummy curried pasta salad and a coleslaw and salad. And who knows what else I decide to cook. Might even make some scones with my TM blackberry jam to take to my sisters new house they moved into yesterday for afternoon tea. Happy cooking today.

I had a cooking day yesterday and made Banana Cake, Luigis 40 second biscuits but used macademias, Apple and Cinnamon Muffins, Breadrolls, and Bolognaise and Pasta for tea. Today i have made Rara's Pancakes for brekky and they were such a hit! Jenny  :)

Wow, you all have been busy.  I've had the weekend off, either eating out or eating leftovers.
Love the look of those oreos Nik and Maddy's heart shaped brownies (I love Amanda's recipe too).

Tonight we're having Jo's chicken/vegies/rice and coconut milk with cashews. I'm not sure how DH is going to go with the coconut milk. I'll keep quiet and see what happens. Possibly some biscuits too and bread.
