Sorbet was amazing as always! My friend was very impressed with the raw sugar into icing sugar. Hence why i made that first. I think i put too much white wine vinegar in the dip but i add some more stuff and it was still good. Salad was great but had trouble with the couscous because i didnt read the recipe properly but it all came together nicely! Its all about learning any way so im have lots of fun.

Sorry I haven't posted much lately.  Made myself a Feather Lemon Cake for my Birthday ;D ;D ;D.  It is my fav. cake and kids and adults love it. Also made the Lemon Spread that is used in the cake.  Made a Pineapple Fruit Cake to take to share in Cape Town, with friends. Made the usual variety of bread,  never the same twice. Made  Lamb shank and Barley soup,  but in the Crock pot.  We prefer it this way.  Made Tomato Soup from the Forum,  sorry forgot who, but it was delightful.  Thanks.    Spaghetti Bol,  with Kanga,  Pork and Beef mince,  Pizzas.   Also made loads of Castor Sug for a friend who does a lot of cooking.

Today I made 40 spring rolls.  Only used the TMX to chop the mushrooms oh and chop frozen prawns.  (Very Noisy)  ;D

I've also made Spicy Plum Sauce and it's ready to bottle...IF I had any bottles  :-))

I didn't make it in the TMX as I made a huge pot of it, yet I did use the TMX to chop the onion, chilli and garlic.  It is just so handy having it on the bench and so easy to clean.  I never used a food processor as much as I use the TM to chop.

As our microwave blew up a few months ago we decided not to replace it, I did miss it when I wanted to melt chocolate on Friday though.  I ended up putting the choc melts in a Pyrex bowl in the varoma and left the lid off.  It only took 5 minutes and I had melted chocolate.

Foodiepep you can use the thermomix to melt chocolate. It's great. The instructions are on the green card for the fridge you're given.
Melt 2minutes at 50C on speed 3. This may vary depending on the amount of chocolate you use.

I've made 2 lots of sourdough bread today. They are still rising. One with spelt flour and one with baker's flour. I've also started Nay's Heinz bars.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Today I have made rice flour, peanut butter, had a failure with farfallina's Rice Flour Daisy Bread (yours looked so good Cookie ;)), Peanut Chicken with steamed rice and vegies for lunch and I currently have CC's Fruit Cake in the oven but I have my fingers crossed with that one as I jumped in and didn't read right through the recipe and added the flour before I was supposed to.  Too late to start again as I had already made a mistake earlier by adding the flour to the TM bowl and poured it straight into the unforgotten steaming liquid from lunch  >:( >:(  Moral of the story is to check the bowl before putting anything in it as you may have forgotten to wash it  :P :P

Thanks Cookie,

I knew it would be possible to melt it in the TMX but as I had to melt 2 different types of chocolate for dipping I didn't want to have to clean out the bowl as well as all the melted chocolate to another bowl to use it for dipping.

I know I'm lazy.  ;D

Cookie, you refer to a "green card" - is this something provided by your consultant or do you have to contact HO and get it from them?  It sounds like a useful wee thing to have around.  Ta

the green card is p7 & 8 of the EDC book on a magnet for your fridge. it should have been in your EDC when you first got it. If you live out of Australia, you probably don't have it because you would have a different book that came with your TM.

Thanks, CP63.  I'm actually in Melbourne (more or less), but if it's the same as those pages in the EDC then I can live with that - I will just have to remember to refer to them periodically.

It should have been just inside your edc when your machine was delivered. Speak to your consultant if it wasn't there.
