Thanks to judydawn here are my pictures of the ricotta & vegie swirls.  The vegie swirls are not as good looking as the original recipe but my children were wanting them NOW so I didn't have time to let anything chill  :-)) - I am going to make some more when the kids are asleep and hopefully they will look a little better  ;)

Good one bTc, obviously these are meant to be eaten cold but like your youngsters, I would want them hot this weather. How does the taste differ between them being hot or cold?

They were nice warm - I just think that cutting them would be neater if the ricotta had set once they were rolled up - just aesthetics  ;)

This afternoon I made some Jaffa Custard (Thanks Robyn for the recipe) and had it over some Strawberries. The Grandkids took home the remainder. I did the dark chocolate one and not the white chocolate one.

Soup (IT'S RAINING ;D ;D), MJ's bread to go with it, Pumpkin fruit cake for him to take to car club tomorrow and Beef Roulade with Gherkins from Travelling .............TMX.
I hope to do some sourdough bread but my starter doesn't seem happy, or it maybe the cold. I have only ever used it in summer before.

Tuesday are my lap swimming days, but it's cold and wet and the thought of putting my swimmers on this morning was somewhat chilly.

So it's back to cooking

I am making quirky Jo's fried rice, make this weekly for DS lunch and for a side dish to diner.
Judys chicken and veggie soup, wanted to make lakes but already have a spicy one in fridge and  DS won't eat spice.
Bread, will look at recipes, I am going to venture out to a different recipe.
Anzac cookies

If time maybe some shortbread

Mixed up a batch of yoghurt this morning, then for morning tea attempted gingerbread men which were a slight failure (but still yummy)

My son saw the picture of the gingerbread men and instantly wanted to cook these & I was pretty sure I had all of the ingredients, turns out I don't actually have any ground ginger...not to worry, just used fresh ginger (surely that could do the same thing  ;)). Second fail - I completely missed the egg step until I had already added the flours, oops - just added in the egg on top anyway (surely it couldn't make that much difference  ;)), then thought the recipe was finished (actually there were a few more important steps) & the dough was really wet (waaay too hard to roll out, unless of course you read the entire recipe) so we just rolled into balls and baked.

Today I made Raspberry Coconut Biscuits which I converted from an old recipe book.
Actually I am only writing this here to see If I can work out how to put a link to recipes on a post. I think its worked.
Yay only took 4 tries.

i think we have to keep bumping the topics that newbies will appreciate. Linking URL's and adding photo's benefit us all, and so it is in our best interest to make sure that as many people as possible know how to make the best of the forum. Same with recipes, and TM hints...we are all pretty good but hey! the thing that really excites me personally is a new recipe that has been posted and a photo if possible  ;) ;) ;) ; cos thats usually the clincher if we are going to make it sooner rather than later don't you think?

I agree 100% creampuff. If I see a photo of a recipe and it looks appealing this will go to the top of my list to try first. We really are a visually motivated society.
