slowly does it today...made some butter, brioche, then chelseas chicken mince kievs for a late lunch but changed the filling and put garlic, chives, large green mild chilli, large handful of mushrooms and of course butter with a little lemon zest...the rest of the recipe as is..was yum but ate too much as no dinner and I still feel full (was yum though)...would also be good with feta, lemon/lime zest i think...oh and camembert and cranberry sauce as another optional filling yum...not really kiev though but so many options and flavours ...  Im going to try to make these in mini for 'bites' for my sons party i think...will add to my notes for prep :)

Really!! Happy 12th! We have just celebrated a huge 15th!!! It was on the 3rd but had a hoedown here on the farm on the weekend. With a big campout. We celebrated with a lamb (year old sheep really!) on the spit that hubby butchered. Thermie came in handy for the coleslaws and making heaps of custard for the massive trifles I made. We had veggies cooked in 6 big camp ovens on the fire and steak and sausages on the BBQ. We booked a bush band that kept us all entertained and dancing all night. I set the shed up so that the truck could be used for a stage - it was a Anniversary to remember!
PS - I was annoyed when hubby bought home 2 ophaned calves the week before and put them in my house yard I had just got looking nice for all the guests we were having!

wow Nay Nay, it sounds like you had a great night. Lots of preparation leading up to it though but all worth it in the end. The calf's would of been a pain. The one little lamb that DH brought home is doing really well and we are hoping the mother will take him back if DH can find her.

Something I always wanted to go to was a country hoedown - sounded great fun Nay.  A belated happy anniversary to you and DH.  Sounds like that one will be hard to beat.
