The pasta maker sure does sound good; we don't eat much but I am tempted for my daughter and her little family. To be able to eat fresh food is so much better.

I'm loving mine...making fresh pasta is faster than driving down the road to buy takeaway and my three feathery ladies in the backyard are giving me 3 eggs a day at the moment so I have no reason not to make egg pasta.  My son has been having a wonderful time experimenting with noodle dishes including ramen and udon (he made a fantastic miso/ramen soup for my lunch the other day).  I've even been asked to make some to send over to my mother's.

Yes, one egg, some water and a cup of flour, and hey presto. We had herb pasta last night with green Vegies and asparagus with chicken and a lemon dressing. Very nice.
I've also sent for the extra extrusion plates.

JeninWA, when you say the craft shop in Greenwood, do you mean near the hotel on Warwick Rd. I also got a few at the $2 shop at Warwick. Will go and have a look. Want some cutting ones now and then I can make a start.

Loving mine we are having beef stirfry tonight with veggie flavored spaghetti noodles.  Julie do you think it is worth buying the extra dyes?

Hope it's ok to post this, but I have only just started up a FB group called "Pasta & noodle machine creations" this afternoon.
Not that I'm experienced, but lots of postings about it are scattered through various forums.  I thought if it was pooled into 1 group, it would make it easier for tips/recipes etc.

This isn't recent shopping as I have had the book for a while. It has now taken on a lot more importance and I find that I want to make every recipe.

Aussie Brenda, I haven't used any of them as yet (4) and I guess it depends if you can see yourself wanting to make really thin pasta like angel hair or udon/ramen plus the flat wide one (pappardelle).  You could of course use the spaghetti for the thin strands, but looking at the holes in the other dies, they are really quite a bit smaller than the spaghetti one.  I think the angel hair would be good in soups etc when you just want a really thin pasta that you can cut to any length that suits.

Why don't you hold off for now and I'll make those other ones in the coming 2 weeks and show the results, it may help you decide.
