I buy 10kg bags and find they last me about a calendar month. I opened a new bag today and I opened the last one on the 21st July. I always put the date on the tag that is stitched into the top of the bag.

That doesn’t surprise me with all your bread making cookie.

If the bread is sifted, ( White) , it will keep for years in a cool place.  No problem with that here.

I have made so many Portuguese Custard Tarts that I have worn out the tins.  The last lot stuck and I was so annoyed that I went to Le Kitchen in Ballarat and bought 2 new ones.  These are Le Creuset. Expensive but amazing. I made Macadamia Honey Tarts and the honey bubbles up and would normally cause problems with removing the tarts.   They just popped out.

That happened to me last weekend, Chookie, I had to throw one of my tins out as well.  Now I have to find another good one.  Don't quite know if we can afford le Creuset, though.

I am very embarrassed about the Le Creuset muffin tins.  I bought 2 but the shop owner insisted on charging me for only one.  Yes they are expensive , $50 each.  But look at it this way.  A Portuguese Custard Tart cost $4 in the shop.  Make 12 and that is the cost of the tin.  The ingredients , less than 50 cents each.   Given the quality of the tins, they will never need replacing.
I also bought a very expensive Bread tin ( about $70) with a slide on lid.  I bought this from Alyce when we did the cooking class at her shop for the Forum Festival in Melbourne. It has been worth every $.  The loaf I made today in this tin would cost $10 if bought. It cost  less than $3 , ingredients.

Chookie just saving the bother of things sticking is worth every cent. I am going to go and check out the Le Creuset muffin tins.  I have a couple of brilliant bread tins that I paid a lot of money for. they are worth every cent. At the time I thought they were very expensive but I have changed my mind. I never grease or line them, or wash them. I just give them a rub over with a hand towel and they are ready for next time.
You have made an excellent purchase.

You are both right, the quality is well worth the expense.

Chookie I have not seen the Le creuset muffin tins before, must have a look soon . In my late 20s I use to wait for the big sale on Le Creuset and get and extra percentage off for the first few days , I saved up and each time got a new pot or casserole dish , love them still use them today . Just made scrambled eggs in a pan the other day .

K Atie,  did the same with the Le Creuset. Only every bought them on sale.  The Muffin tins are $60 but they were reduced to $50.  All my Le Creuset pots are red.  I now leave a couple on the stove as I use them all the time. I have been tempted by the new colours but have resisted.
There is a Le Creuset Shop in the Emporium in Melbourne.  I try to keep away from there.  :-X

The parcel post man called today. He had a parcel for me from Booktopia. DD managed to get free shipping for it. It is an American book but I have made a couple of things from their magazines and liked them. (bake from scratch)
