It's dreadful isn't it? DD ordered from Amazon the other day and it took 3 days from Melbourne. Everything else takes about 4 weeks.

I am sure I must have said this sometime last week, but all mail from here, goes up to Sydney for sorting then comes back here for delivery - 4 weeks sounds almost the normal, these days, Cookie, so a 3 day delivery is almost unheard of.

We had a Woolies delivery yesterday.  It came from Melbourne and the driver said his next delivery was Bendigo.

Really Chookie that’s crazy , woolies i think in Melbourne have a warehouse must ask DM . I thought it would be from Ballarat .

Usually delivery from Ballarat. Delivery man said that the staff were on school holidays. .  There is no school in Victoria. We got a message at 4 am to say that they couldn’t supply a couple of items.  So it looks like they put the order together at night.
Think I will put in another order for Huon Salmon.  Expensive but beautiful. We are still having things delivered, although a lot of restrictions have been lifted.

We have recently joined The Avo Club and, due to a confusion with my order, we have ended up with 18 unripe avocados.  This is our second delivery and so far the avocados we have received have been 100% perfect - no bruising, no brown spots, the entirety edible and none thrown in the bin.  We will happily munch our way through all of these, but if anyone has thoughts or ideas for interesting avo recipes I would love to check them out.

Interesting Marina.  I buy a bag of about 6/7 at about $1.25 each. I keep them in the fridge and remove 1 at a time.  It takes about 2 days for them to ripen.
Don’t do anything amazing with them.  Don’t like then cooked.
On toast with egg and lemon juice.
1/2 filled with mayo and prawns
Chopped with onion tops, and tomato as aside.
I always add lemon juice but friend adds Worcestershire sauce.

I don’t buy a lot as they are so expensive, however a friend has a tree and he gives me plenty. I tend to eat them as is, or spread onto bread.

Thanks Chookie and Cookie, I will definitely make some of your suggestions.  I have always loved avo and poached egg on toast so that will be high on my priorities, but I think it would be nice with just the faintest hint of worcestershire added.  Some of Tenina's recipes look fabulous as well, I'm looking forward to trying them.

Purchased a curved 27" computer monitor for work today - it is great.  For the first time in ages I don't have to push my nose up against the screen to see what I am doing!!!

That is great. It sounds as though it is quite large too, being 27”.

It is large, Cookie, but it has made a huge difference.  With my old 24" some of the work I was doing was guess work because I couldn't see the screen clearly enough and, if I changed the size everything was so large it was too hard to work with (even my accountant commented on it when he was linked in to the computer).  Now I have still got a good size at the same proportions as the old monitor.

I can't believe how much progress there is on the technical side of things.  I think it's easy not to realise if you haven't updated for a few years to how much better things are. So glad your new monitor is working out Cuildih. 

I recently got the new Apple Watch 6 after having the original one since it first came out.  I find the new one so much better in lots of ways and now I can use it without having my phone with me to make calls or messages.  I no longer need to carry my phone with me when doing my morning walk for example.  I leave it in the car and can text or phone etc if needed whilst out on my walk.
