While I don't have an issue with paying for an app or service if it is good, this does seem a bit on the pricey side in comparison to many other apps. I don't think it could replace the value of the forum, whether I buy it or not (don't know whether there is a version planned for android platforms). For me, an app might be handy, but it can never capture the community interaction that is so much of what I enjoy about this forum.

If the app includes the entire MWOC book I have no problem paying $10 for the app, I now purchase as many books as I can in electronic format rather than the paper version and $10 is on the cheap side for a good current release book. If on the other hand if it's just a selection of recipes and the extras such as shopping list then I think it's far to expensive and I wouldn't consider purchasing, I purchased the robo app when it was free and never bothering looking at it because it's just a selection of recipes available from this forum and other blogs - I would much prefer to go to the original source where I can get additional information and reviews. The app can never replace the forum as they both have very different purposes.

So After saying all that does anyone now if the app includes the entire book? I received an email today and it says it includes 104 recipes but I have no idea how many are in the book.

There is an iphone ipad app called RoboGourmet: Thermomix Recipes $6.99. It has 350 recipes & notes that it isn't an official product of Vorwerk and the recipes have been collected from public sources.

Have no idea what it would be like - best not download it when still need to convince DH that I am getting a TMX.

I think no app or book could take the place of this forum. All the recipes are favorites of someone and the source of the recipe is usually on hand to hold your hand if needed.
I don't know if you arevsuppose to,as this is my first forum, but I love getting to know other aspects of everyone's life.  And even in such a short time I really feel I know mist of the regulars and enjoy hearing bits about there day.
CP - I understand exactly where you are coming from.

I agree. I don't even have my TMX yet but spend all my spare time on this forum.

Now if only every recipe could come with a picture I would be in heaven. I have a bookshelf full of recipe books & Magazines that I buy because I like the "pretty pictures" but never actually get around to making anything!!!!

CP - I couldn't agree with you more!
Mark Bittman's bestselling book "How to Cook Everything" is available in an app and costs $5.49 (US) for 2,000 recipes, making the TM one ridiculously expensive - like everything else they flog.  I suspect they will proceed to update the app regularly at further cost each time.
I stopped buying their books years ago - this forum is the best resource any TM owner could ever use and the one I recommend to my friends!

Thanks Judy, it looks like most of the recipes will be in the app but haven't made up my mind on buying it as I much prefer to try recipes that have already been tested.

I  to comment because IWhatever have never given me a brass razoo. I will not be buying into the app tho cos I have all the books. Now should it have also included the Travelling with TM (which I am SICK  of waiting for - yes SICK SICK SICK) I might have been persuaded. Anyway, am getting sick (no, tired) of waiting for that book and have found this forum is the best thing that Vorwerk could ever invest in (not that they have thank God).

To get really good value out of your TM you don't need to invest in this i-application, and before you do so, I would recommend that you stay tuned to our forum website because it is completely FREE and will save you money. All of our members post because we want to share our recipes, and the i-phone etc app takes off websites such as ours and profits. To be upfront: our members don't have anything to gain by you being a member, and I really don't care what books Vorwerk bring out from now onwards because this website is always the BEST anyway because its from a volunantary netwook, and might not even buy their books because they are not living up to our forum. I really am sick of waiting to buy the Vorwork books and don't know why they have the restrictions. I have the money but don't have the time
to waste on additional demonstrations and sh*t.

I could not agree more and the free app is crap indeed.

Gosh that does seem expensive for that number of recipes.  I had thought about downloading it but won't be doing so now - thanks for doing the research and saving me money Penji.   :-* :-*

It seems that the problems with delivery of cookbooks lies with TMX Australia as (and I don't want to be too smug ;)) those of us in the UK can get books by phoning the UK office.    I just thought I should mention it as I wouldn't want Vorwerk's worldwide reputation to be unfairly attacked when it looks as if the problem may be with one part of the organisation.

I'm downloading the free version, Only has 10 recipes apparently but has all the other functions. So will check it out and see if it is worth the $8.49 for the full version.

I think I will stick to the Forum, I don't think the App would be useful to me at all. I just wouldn't use it. I already have the MWOC book and even if I didn't I still don't think I would use this App. If anyone wants to check it out then download the Free App first before paying for it. (Glad I downloaded the free version first)
