Does anyone own a Phillips Airfryer?
« Reply #105 on: February 05, 2014, 08:25:32 am »
Tonight was a success. I had marinated 2 chicken breast fillets which I had sliced into 3 strips each, one onion and a green capsicum in some satay sauce I had in the freezer. I then cooked it all together at 180 for 4 mins, stirred and cooked a further 8 mins at 200.  I served with fried rice and some additional satay space I thinned down a little with some hot water and soy sauce.

It looks really delicious. I love the browning on it. No heat for the kitchen either.

Dessert in the airfryer. Sliced apple sprinkled with brown sugar and encased in puff pastry. Cooked on 200 for 6 minutes, I did preheat the fryer while I was chopping the apple and encasing in the pastry. From start to finish it was 15 mins.

Yay Judy :) you will have fun with it.  When cooking I look at the recipe book to see if they have something similar & use that as guide but this post is creating a good guide for it  :)

Food look great ladies

I've been making a list of ideas just from postings on our forum or just anything else that pops into my mind.  Is the apple dessert from the book Wonder?  Nice quick dessert for unexpected visitors.  How many recipes in the book?

I'm not a fan of FB sites, probably because they keep their postings short and I like to know every little detail  ;D  For all the pictures posted on that site you linked to BZB, are there recipes available - I couldn't see a lot of recipes.

Judy, she puts in the info on her photos. Not so much the recipes but ideas and settings. She has posted 200+ dishes. They are a bit hard to search though. So I've used Snap Recipes to save the dishes that I like.

Judy the pies are just a made up recipe we always had as kids and my kids make as a quick dessert. Much quikcer in the airfryer than waiting for our big oven to heat to 200.

I cut one sheet of puff pasty into four squares, peel 1 apple (generally granny smith in this house), quarter it and remove the core then slice each quarter into thin slices, normally i can get about six slices from each quarter. I then lay the apple diagonally down the pastry square and sprinkle with a little brown sugar, then fold across the longer side to meet in the centre and push together to seal then fold over both ends pulling up over the apple if need be to make them meet the pasty at the top. It probably sounds a bit complicated but really they are very simple. We've also used tinned drained peaches and banana the same way. Sometimes if the apples are only small you may need more than one to make up the four - tonight I only made  three because it was a smaller apple although they were pretty full. They would probably look even better with an egg wash but that would add more ingredients and mess and the kids love them just like this so I dont' bother.

Uni I think the one in the link is the Viva collection which is smaller and comes with the extra rack.

From what I can tell the Avance XL (Philips) and the XL fryer are the same product.

The grilling pan only comes with the smaller sized Viva model, at the moment there are no accessories for the XL. Like Judy I bought the extra baking dish but it is small because it's actually an accessory for the Viva not the XL. The promoter on TVSN said they are hoping to have accessories for the XL in the next couple of months.
