That's why I haven't thrown it out. I've put it in the fridge until I decide what to do with it.

When Uni gets back from all these weddings, maybe she will have an idea ES.

Just googled to see what I could find ES.  One chap coarsely chops the leftovers & freezes them (it doesn't freeze completely being alcohol soaked) then sprinkles it on grilled fish, in chicken dishes and on most veggies.  Someone else adds some to citrus marmalade and others add them to cake mixtures.

When you make this, do you grate the zest really fine, or in the longer thicker strips using a zester?  I would like to get a batch on brewing tonight  ;D

Uni, I've got an excess of grapefruits - do you think I could make this using grapefruit zest?  I made lemon butter using pink grapefruit and it tastes just the same so I'm hopeful!

Uni, where do you get your pure alcohol from. I made your limoncello with vodka and it is pretty yum...but would like to try with pure alcohol.

That is so lovely of you. When I finish this lot, would love to try  the pure alcohol version. Will be sipping a lot in the next few weeks!!! :)

Uni,  when I tried store-bought limoncello, it was a cloudy liquid, but mine that is soaking in alcohol looks still very clear.  How does your limoncello end up?  Do you think the commercial ones add lemon juice to make it cloudy looking?

I used vodka this time Uni ........... too scared to use pure alcohol!
We have pure alcohol at work, but I am not convinced that it fit for consumption - dont they add nasties to it to stop people drinking it?  Like they do with metho?

Woo Hoo!!!  After just one day of soaking, I couldn't resist a sniff of this mixture.  The lemon scent is overpowering, and absolutely wonderful!

We had a little taste-test on the weekend, comparing store-bought limoncello with my homemade variety - and everyone who tried it preferred the homemade stuff.  The commercial version was very bitter in comparison.
