Have just got some raw sugar and boiling water cooling, and then a thought struck me...apart from the darker colour than if I'd used white sugar, will it make a difference by using the raw?

I bought some limoncello about 7 years ago in Italy.  I've never opened the bottle (don't know why, I love lemon and vodka????).  Do you think it would still be ok to drink?

Send it to me!!!!!!

Every time I see this thread I have to go get a glass.

Drinks at my place tonight!!!!
I've just bottled my first batch of lemoncello, and not all of it will fit in the bottle. What to do, what do do?
Mmmmmm
Oh, and I've just zested some mandarins ......

Yes. I've pinched one of DH,s bourbon bottles which is only 700ml, and there is only a small amount that doesn't fit in.
I'm looking forward to this after dinner!

I've just decanted into a wine bottle and there is a little left over for a tasting. It's quite nice on the rocks. Have to go and walk the dog soonish so hope I'm not legless  ;D

I've just finished the mandarincello and I'm just taste testing it now :)
DH says that he prefers it to the lemoncello. I think I agree. Mmmmm

I might just have to do more taste testing this weekend.

When you make this, do you grate the zest really fine, or in the longer thicker strips using a zester?  I would like to get a batch on brewing tonight  ;D

I used my zester which makes those long strips Karen, don't know what everyone else uses.

I used my micro plane zester which resulted in a very fine zest. Here is a photo of the zest after it has soaked in the vodka.

I wonder if you can still use that for something else ES - pretty potent though  ;)
