Mab, that is horrid for your DH. Hopefully the broad spectrum antibiotics help a bit.
Happy Mothers' Day everyone. Quiet here, I think DH and DD may have sort of forgotten. I didn't keep reminding them like I do for my birthday. I don't really mind.

Happy Mothers Day from me too!   ;D

I saw this this morning.  I wouldn't have thought of doing this with avocados, seemed too delicate, but freezing for an hour before hand makes sense.  Would be nice to have access to one or two during the colder months.  I'm going to give it a try.  :D

Also this seeded bread seems worth a try too.

I ended up making the nut & seed loaf today and we both really liked it a lot.  Took longer than 40 mins to bake but I noticed my batter was more loose than in the video which may be from the large eggs I used? Not sure but it was really nice.  Will definitely make it again.  :D

Good Morning, good to hear that DH is feeling a little better MAB, hope you get to take him home soon.
Chookie you've certainly had some very cold days - only 2 by 10am. We are still having lovely days in the low 20's.
Julie, the bread looks delicious as usual. Good idea for the avocados.
I had a nice Mothers Day - did face time with DD & SIL. Spent some time with DS & DIL.
Thinking of you yesterday Judy and hope you had a nice day.

Julie, a question.  How do you get the recipe for the bread from uTube? Do you have to play it 3 times so you can write it down? :-X
The bread looks delicious.

Chookie, I watched it on my laptop with a word document at the side so I could type it up as he was making it  ;D

If you are interested, I could post the recipe (I weighed the main parts too).  Such a quick recipe.

I didn't have activated almonds so just used the normal raw ones.  I have put more almonds on my shopping list so I can have a go at making some. ;D

The bread was lovely and has just the right amount of sweetness, was really impressed.  Not sure how fresh it will stay, will find out over the next couple of days.

Am interested in trying more of these sort of recipes.  Alyce Alexander has just released a mini ebook called 'wholesome gluten free bread' which I purchased.  Only 5 recipes in there but will definitely give them a whirl.

I got a txt from the Melbourne service centre saying they have received my TMX and will send me a quote when they have looked at it. Just as Im typing this, another txt came through that a technician has commenced work. That's only 4 business days since I sent it off. Very good service.

Good morning everyone, my hands still feel numb from the cold this morning but the sun is out so maybe I’ll thaw out before too much longer.  Just having tidied the freezer drawers probably hasn’t helped!
I’ve had the workers here since early this morning starting on the bathroom reno.
I hope you all had a nice Mothers’ Day, my DD and family came here for lunch, picking up platters  of food from a local hotel plus a container of very diabetic friendly gelato (plenty left over In the tub for me). First time they’ve been here for ages, my 2 DDs arranged for the local one to buy presents from them both so I was completely spoilt.
Great service from HO Michele.
I liked the look of that seed bread Julie, good on you for giving it a go.  I can now eat whole grain bread so I’m really enjoying that instead of Keto bread. I loved the avocado idea too although I wouldn’t put so many in the bag, individual serves would work better for me. My sealer broke so I’ll trial just sucking the air out of a small ziplock bag and see if that works.
Cookie I hope your family remembered Mothers’ Day in the end.

Julie, I would love the recipe for the bread.  It is very kind of you to share it.
I also saw Alyce’s Gluten free book. I notice in the photo that the one she is holding is very small.

March 2011. This photo is of a bread cooking class at my home at Cherokee.  Anita, ( my consultant, in the black ) organised it for a group of TMX consultants to come and make bread , coffee scrolls and buns. Alyce is in the front of the photo and her Mum is at the back with her hand up.  I’m in the pink. In the early days there was not the expertise with bread that there is now.

Lovely photo Chookie. Mich that is great service from thermomix.
Beautiful weather here the last few days. Cold in the morning and then lovely days going to cold in the evening.

Judy I bet time with your family would have really hit the spot yesterday after isolation and losing your mum, sounds like a lovely day.

My daughter and grandson are coming up on Thursday night and I can't wait!.  Grandson will stay for the weekend but my daughter will return home on Friday as she has work on the weekend.  Grandsons dad will pick him up on Monday.  I haven't seen them in the flesh since middle of January and I have really missed them.

So nice for you having the new bathroom to look forward to too.  I hope they don't take too long.  ;D

Yes, I will be only freezing and vacuum sealing 4 Judy, that will be enough I think.

Chookie, I've now posted the recipe under the Breads section.  Yes AA loaves only look small which I think is a good thing for us, looking forward to trying the fruit one especially.  One of the ingredients is dried figs but I can't eat them as I get a bad reaction so thought I'd try dried cherries instead. ;D
Lovely to see you in the photo.

Thanks Julie, that is very nice of you to post the recipe.  I’m sure others will also use it.  I love dried sour cherries.  They are expensive but they give a real kick to whatever you put them in.
Enjoy your GS.  We have also been missing our GC.  The Melbourne ones do FaceTime.  But it is not the same. They seem to grow so quickly.  We had a loverly afternoon with our DD and GC.  GD had posted something on the computer.  Didn’t really understand what it was about although she showed us.  It had 1/2 million hits.  GS it making videos.  No idea how they do this.
Tonight at 7 pm I went shopping at Aldi.  First time shopping for 8 weeks.  Was a bit strange. Bought several Avocados.  Will try the freeze and vac seal trick.

What a lovely photo and memory Chookie.
All the grandparents must be missing spending time with their grandchildren. Luckily technology can keep us in touch with one another.
I think I should have my TMX back by the end of the week  :D. HO sent me an email saying they had posted it back and gave me the tracking number.
