Yesterday had appointment with Ear Nose and Throat Specialist because I’ve had a husky voice for about a year. No nasties. It’s an aging woman problem. He said that it’s the reason that a lot of elderly women can no longer sing. For men it’s different.
K Atie, are you ok with the fires?
Final measurements taken today for blinds for garden room.

It always pays to check these things out Chookie, pity about your singing career though!
I’ve had the window cleaner in this morning.

I did much the same re your voice Chookie. I met up with a lady I used to teach with and said my voice was much huskier. My doctor said much the same.

I did my grocery shopping this morning. DH attended a commemoration ceremony at his RSL as it’s National Serviceman’s Day.

Chookie all good thank you . Not much media information on the fires but we are fine . The small town of Pamonal is not good many houses lost . I was on the road onTuesday to Melbourne, not a great trip very windy . Massive thunder near Ballarat that caused a small fire . Tomorrow DS will go with the local firebigade to help put out spot fires . This is a huge thing ( for me I’m concerned) but part of being with brigade. Yes honestly it’s what you do but Mother Nature is also very unpredictable. Proud of him but also a huge thing too . The fires are not going to go out for a long while where they are . The most work has to be done by air as it’s rugged country that you can’t get into . After being through a major fire 16 years ago it never leaves you , but the community’s are there to help , incredibly amazing support.

K Atie, I understand completely about the fires. One of the reasons we left Mt Macedon was the fire season. Also I was on a school camp during Ash Wednesday fires. We were evacuated. It was the noise that was most frightening.
People keep dropping off fruit for preserves. Also luckily jars. I’m able to handle one lot a day. I’m making, jam, jelly, fruit vinegar, fruit paste. Tomatoes don’t seem plentiful in Ballarat. I give back a jar or two to those who fift the fruit or jars.
While on the Cruise, they served a fruit jelly with the cheese, I thought I might try making some. It was set a bit more than jam/ jelly but not as dense as fruit paste.

My internet has been down for a couple of days so I have been catching up on my mail.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

DS never got to go on fire brigade duty . Others stepped in and they are needing less units . Saturday is not looking good with high winds again . Traveled home silly leaving early afternoon the west gate is bad single lanes and so so many trucks . Home to do my jobs and feed the boys !! Earlier today DD and I looked for a dress for her ! No luck but managed to finally find some jeans for her . DS fitted his light for Ute today , they bailed up all the rams wool and crutching ! DH is a bit worn out .

Mab, I was wondering how you were going with the fires. Stay safe. They are so unpredictable. Asked Dr if I could reduce my Diabetic pills to 1. He said yes , but a blood test in 6 weeks. I had better behave myself as I’m eating anything at the moment.

I’ve been rather bad lately Chookie. I have my 6 monthly check coming up. I’m thinking that I may be put on medication this time. My will power seems to have melted. 😀😀😀

Cookie, it’s so difficult to be good all the time. Especially when you love to bake. My problem is that I’m getting different reports from different Doctors. My GP is at one end as extreme in controlling the diabetes and the diabetes nurse at the other end in saying I haven’t got diabetes. The kidney specialist reduced the pills from 3 to 2 and made no difference to the tests. I’ve been eating things I shouldn’t and it’s making no difference.
If you can manage to stay off the medication, do.  It’s not the medication that’s the problem but how it interacts with other pills you are taking, even supplements.
I’m amazed at how you have managed for so long but it gets more difficult as you age.

That must be so hard, Cookie.  I do not envy you.

Chookie, I drove through Tilden yesterday on my way to Kyneton and thought of you.  I was on my way to drop my cousin off with friends in Kyneton on his next part of his holiday in Australia.
