No.  mine usually looks like cake on top and the sauce underneath.

In between the wind, rain and hail today I made cordial, energy bars and some more nuts and bolts and then dinner.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I've never cooked a self saucing pudding before. Is it supposed to look this messy? :-))

The one my mum made always looked a bit like that. My siblings loved it, I tolerated it :)

the cake was Stephanie Alexander's orange cake, and filled the core with Belgium chocolate ganache



And topped with chocolate fudge icing
