oohh they look scrumptious Chookie.

I thought I wouldn't have to cook today. It's DD's birthday and the birthdayee gets to choose their birthday dinner, e.g. junk food, a restaurant or pub meal, whatever. When I asked DD what she'd like, she gave me her best dazzling smile and asked for roast pork with crackling, applesauce and all the trimmings. I said a few words under my breath then put on my best smile and said OK. DH was then despatched to pick up a leg of roast pork. He came home with a 4.4 kg leg of boneless pork  :o :o :o :o :o :o Needless to say he loves his roast pork and crackling. Won't need to lift weights for a day or two :-)) At least it's not too hot today.

I'm also cooking Bimby chocolate cake and making vanilla ice-cream with a strawberry sauce swirl. So much for not cooking :P

Djinni,  that is exactly what I would order for my Birthday.  Much better than going out.  I'm sure you will enjoy cooking it and eating it also.  Good on you Mum. HappyBirthday daughter.  ;D

I had a chuckle at your comment Troupie. I have to cook my own too, unless I want Red Rooster.
Djinni that is a back handed compliment to your cooking. I hope she had a lovely birthday.

sounds great djinni, if I was still able to I think I would choose my Mum's roast pork over most other meals.

Its not really cooking but I made the best nut butter tonight. I have been out of peanut butter for a while and really felt like some on fruit toast for breakfast this morning. So tonight I cleaned up all the little bags of nuts leftover from various recipes. I started but roasting some fresh almonds for 10 minutes at 200 in the oven. I add these to the TM there were about 120g, I then added 50g macadamia nuts, about 100g roasted unsalted peanuts and made the total weight up to 300g with cashews.

I had to restrain myself from eating it all.
