It sounds lovely Bedlam.

Wish I had lots of basil cookie. Love your pesto.
I have been given two huge zucchinis so made Hally's zucchini scrolls with pesto, ham and cheese and Astarra's zucchini slice.

That looks lovely Kimmy. I have lots of zucchini at the moment, so I may follow in your footsteps. Cookie, we love pesto but not many of my plants came up this year. >:(

From the 5:2 thread this lovely carrot and lentil soup posted by chookie.

It's so easy, cheap and delicious. Maybe it should have its own thread?
Here is the link to the thread.

zucchini freezers well,  I grated it, and squished the water out, after salting. :)

Great cooking girls.
It has been too hot to bake using oven,  AF got a work out with crumbed cutlets last night.
Questions about Jostaberry conserve.  Jam is likely to be smoother and without lumps of fruit,  conserve, ( no water ) will keep the fruit in lumps provided that it isn't too soft to start with. The flavor and coloured of conserve is also more intense.
Today I will be making lots of jam and conserve.  All in the TMX as each lot will be different.
Also making some Raspberry Sorbet which has Vodka in it.  Will post recipe if good .
Roast chicken for lunch. Roast potatoes and greens from garden.

DJ,  that certainly is a good recipe.

Much cooler day here today, thank goodness!  I hope the cool change gets to you soon Chookie.

More corned beef patties today (using leftover ham) and also making Kimmyh's mexican beef slice for dinner.  Both are easy to have with salad.

I like the look of that carrot soup DJ - we grew carrots in our garden this year, and have heaps of them.

I made what I thought was going to be Ham Hash Brown Patties from Australian Table magazine (well, some of them were) but this mixture is very difficult to keep in the shape of a patty so those that fell apart in the pan I mushed up further and kept stir frying them until they were brown and crunchy.  I had a bowlful for lunch and I must say that mixture was so delicious that when I reheat the other patties, I'm going to do the same with them. It's similar to fried rice but it's potato, ham, parsley, onion, garlic, egg, all chopped up in the TMX apart from dicing the ham.

I've also made a double quantity of the 2:5 carrot soup for the freezer.

Judy,  that sounds very tasty.
I didn't get around to making the Sorbet. Made strawberry fluff and 30 sausage rolls and 6 small Apple Tarts for CFA.   Also 11 jars of jam and 3 bottles of sliced Apples. I used the skins and cores in the jam and pushed the lot through the Mouli. Also made Vanilla ice cream as GC coming to stay today.

What a busy day chookie.. Wonderful achievement!
I made pigs in duvets, with your no fuss dough with 80g w/m flour added, and a walnut, onion, and olive loaf with the remaining dough.

I can't post the pics just now as photo bucket isn't working.

We are having the olive loaf tomorrow with tomatoes baked in olive oil with garlic. We had the sausages tonight with the carrot and lentil soup, so delicious.

Busy lady Chookie, the heat doesn't seem to dampen your desire to be in the kitchen.
