That cake and bread are looking lovely katie :)
I am an impatient baker as well, there are so many times I stand in front of the oven and keep asking, are you done yet, are you done yet? :D

I'm sure all your friends will really appreciate your jelly CC.  It looks so lovely and clear.

Lovely bread and cake Katie, and very nice Jelly CC.  You can never have too much.
Today made Brons Vegetable concentrate. For lunch cooking a recipe from new CSIRO 'total Well Being diet, book.   Thai salmon and green bean salad with Coconut dressing.

I have decided that this living in a 'display house' is not for us so next week have organised for 2 lots of lunch visitors.

Good on you, Chookie.  I am sure your house will still look good and exactly what it is ... a home!

The jelly looks lovely Denise.

Great idea Chookie, get back to doing what you love. The minute the house is no longer a "show home" is the minute buyers will come.

Tonight I made pasta in my Philips pasta machine. Cracked an egg and it was a double-yolker. I had two the other night as well. I don't think I've ever seen one before in my life and now three from the same carton. It's funny I get disappointed when I crack an egg from that carton and it's just a single yolk!

A double yolker always feels special.  Those chooks must have been energetic laying all those Katie.

Lovely Katie. Do you count this as 1 or 2 eggs when making pasta?

I wasn't sure Chookie, so I counted it as one. With the pasta machine, you put your egg into a jug and top it up with water to the required measurement, so I still had the right flour to liquid ratio. I've been using a mix of durum semolina and wholemeal stoneground durum flour. The pasta has been turning out great.

Today I'm baking a sour dough bread I started last night. I'm also making strawberry ice-cream, tomato sauce, roasted tomato passata and Quirky Jo's baked beans. I'll have to stop cooking soon as the freezers are full!

So much wonderful cooking by everyone.  Can't wait to get started again.

Here's my sour dough - hope it tastes ok.

It still amazes me that (A) I've managed to keep Chookies sour dough starter alive for years and (B) that I can make sour dough bread.
