I bought a couple of cute jars a bit smaller than I usually use to fill for gifts. The jolly things cracked when I sterilised them. Now my gift jars are mustard jars again.  :'(

Disappointing that the jars cracked Cookie. Doesn't matter about using mustard jars, the contents will still taste great.  ;D

Made some Date, Orange and Banana Muffins this morning. Something that has turned out. I've had some shockers with my cooking for about 3 months now and haven't done much cooking. I've posted the recipe here if anyone is interested.

Also made Cookies beetroot dip and am enjoying it for breakfast. It was one of the first things I made when I purchased the TMX 4 years ago and it's a favourite.

Yesterday we had lunch in Bendigo while having car serviced. I will try and recreate what I had , using the TMX. It was absolutely delicious. smoked duck salad with egg crusted with Porcini mushroom. And Lime leaf Brûlée with pink grapefruit segments and mango ice cream.
Thought I might do the duck salad as a light meal on Xmas day.

Good to see you haven't given up on your cooking after some failures Michele,  Yay for a success with your muffins.

I'd love some of your energy for cooking Chookie, I mostly only do what I have to these days but occasionally get motivated to spend a few hours in the kitchen. With only 1 mouth to feed though, there really isn't the need for much  food.

Mich your muffins look lovely and sound very tasty.

Chookie you have certainly been busy. Your meal sounds lovely and the duck salad sounds perfect for a light meal at Christmas.

Nice looking muffins Michelle, I love a good muffin.
I made a Beetroot dip on the weekend for a street party, it was delicious, everyone seemed to enjoy it.
Yesterday I made a Sweet potato hommus . That is nice also, DH takes a little to work with some raw vege sticks.

Haven't really been cooking a lot so busy with end of year school things but I did make reindeer gingerbread for Lily's class party, I tried the gingerbread from the festive flavours book delicious I did sub the spices for the yiah gingerbread spice mix and the decorating was a little dodgy but Lily thinks I'm amazing  (her words )

Thankyou for your kind comments. Mum and DH said they were good. I haven't tried one yet. Hopefully the months of dodgy cooking are over.

Suzanne, they are brilliant, what a clever idea.  :D

Whereabouts in Bendigo? I go there a lot.
I made gingerbread house dough but when it came to assembly it was a miserable failure. It's so hot today and I was wilting, so I gave up. I also made the candy cane chocolate heart lollipops and crushed candy cane spoons and hearts. I also made pizza which will be in bite sized pieces for a school Christmas party.
