I’ve cooked up 5 bundles of vermicelli for the freezer, packaged them into 9 x 60 gms which is enough to add to soup or some sort of sauce/veggies. It makes for a quick meal having these packs on hand. Also made Thermomixer’s varoma steamed bread & butter pudding using 1/2 of a croissant I had in the freezer. I added a few choc chips and some raisins this time.

That's a good idea with the vermicelli, Judy.  Why on earth did I never think of that - I do it with rice all the time, but simply never thought of doing the same with pasta.  That is definitely on my list for next weekend's cooking.

Anything to make life easier Marina. If I don’t have any precooked I tend to take the easy way out and just eat an egg or soup.

I made a sort of carrot cake today. It has dried cherries in it that are soaked in tea for a couple of hours. It caught my eye as the ‘icing’ is yoghurt and mascarpone. It is delicious. The recipe https://www.bonnemaman.co.uk/recipes/coronation-party-traybake
I didn’t put the ginger in it as we aren’t fond of it.

Cookie, your cakes looks very nice.  A couple of sites I follow are all putting up recipes for the coronation.

I made a half mixture of Chookies bread to use as garlic bread with dinner tonight

Judy, good to see you still experimenting. I make smooth soup in the TMX and freeze in meal portions. Then add extras such as salad,  pasta or grains or seeds after it is heated. I have never thought to add salad leaves to soup but saw my DD do this so tried it. Certainly different.

I’ve not seen that either Chookie apart from lettuce in a green pea soup.

Today the kids are on their way over so I’ve made the following for their fridge.

For SIL - Creamy Pork Steaks Marsala https://stripedspatula.com/creamy-pork-chops-marsala/#wprm-recipe-container-8532. He will share in some of the items I’ve made for DD.

For DD - Nico’s Baked Spinach & Feta stuffed field mushrooms from his book Cooking Passions - Delicious Journeys. From Nagi’s collection, The Sweet Potato Soup, her Garden Salad and dressing, Twice Baked Potatoes (I put bacon in 2 for SIL) along with her Apple Crumble, the smell of which was amazing.

I happened to have a Marley Spoon box so I crossed out the word Marley and turned it into Judy Spoon which is what SIL calls my meal deliveries.

Love it Judy.
I made some bagels today and a chocolate sponge roll. I have toasted some cashews to make pesto but will do that tomorrow. I will probably have to toast some more cashews as we will nibble the ones I did.
