most restaurants have meal deals so to speak ...they call them menu xxxxx depending on what is in that menu for choice..they are often cheaper but whenever we go somewhere we dont know we look at things like internaute etc basically programs that have locals and other people who note different restaurants and you get a good feel for whats good in the area you are...

an example is that often for a menu which has limited choice and is often the cheapest items on the menu..or specials in a standard restaurant so no fab chefs etc or they can be but they are newbies ranges from 28 to 50 euros for a menu so thats an entree, main and a dessert sometimes just main with either entree or dessert and some places a dirnk but not always in oz in some places for example there is a french place not far from my parents place in starts with an F ..name escapes me right at the moment ..vivaroo knows it  :)  they have menus ie entree, main, dessert and a drink for 25 AUD..you just wont get the prices..if you can get a menu meal for 25 euros thats cheap and you are doing very well but more often than not its alot more than that...it helps to speak the language as sometimes they will let you change items over etc but as a rule most entrees are around 12 plus euros, main is 18-25 and dessert is around 10-15 euros, drinks on top.  It is however more expensive in touristy areas and the food is crap...we got caught last trip down south..people had told us about this italian place that was great so off we went...and it was so horrible I didnt eat it..the owner came out and told us to come back the next day as I was convinved it was all frozen premaid foods and not the fresh produce they were trying to flog it as...anyway we came back and this time it was edible but still no way it was fresh...it was a touristy town and we wont be trapped like that again...even when they tell you its fresh this and that it doesnt mean it is...neve eat seafood in France on the coast unless you are sure its fresh as alot of places rip you off for fresh and its frozen and comes from some far away place!!  Those prices are just for standard restaurants if you go for some michelin star chefs or well known restaurants the 'menu' starts at 100 euros and goes up with every star..if i remember 3 michelin stars will cost you around 250 euros per person..over here many people travel all around France and even the world just to eat in these restaurants, not because of the location but because of the food prepared..would love to eat in a restaurant like that one day...cant say we can pay 500 euros for a meal right at the moment though..but maybe one day!  :)  Im sure thats the same anywhere with regards to michelin star chefs...

Do you have much input into what happens in the restaurant fundj?  Does DS have a TMX in the restaurant?

Damien would love to have a TM he is worry about his staff would not respect it.

We do  talk a lot, he does try a lot of the things that frank and i  advice him to do

When he thinks of a dish that he wants to do i will say things like ok what else can you use the ingredients for, he will think about, if it’s nothing else , i really advise him  not to do it, and he is fine with that most of the time .

Maddy's Coconut Cakes with Raspberry Frosting, a Lemon Scented Pull Apart Loaf (if it works, I'll post the recipe!) and that's all today in the Thermomix Stir Fry Chicken and Almonds for tea.
Sorting out recipes today and also spent a lot of time converting the Pull Apart Loaf from imperial to metric and then to Thermomix!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.
