Some baking this am so made Nay-Nays family scone recipe and the Poppyseed & Lemon Biscuits with Lemon Sugar.

Scones are yreally ummy (something slightly missing that i can't put my finger on; a tang ... need to consult the missus later to find out what she used to put in hers) and my son has had 3 so far; like me :)

Not tried the biccies yet but they smell delicious ... Strike that the biccies are fab, next time I'll have to buy two lemons though I was about 1/2 -3/4 of a tablespoon of Lemon Zest (how big is an Australian tablespoon? By Austrailian measurements I guess. I might have had enough). My son didn't want to try them but I made him take a tiny bite of my biscuit; there was a second of trepidation on his face and then his face lit up,  went "yummy" and scarperred off for his own biscuit

Company for brunch - some friends on their way to Las Vegas - so I opted to prepare  Pannekoeken - Dutch Baby Pancake - baked in the oven.
I prepared it from a mix - a free "bonus" from one of the online vendors where I purchase many of my ingredients and other "basic" mixes.

The batter is quite rich so I had mine plain, my guests had theirs with syrup, one with a dried fruit compote.

Just out of the oven.

One serving.

Closeup of the cut edge of the serving, the "Money Shot" as the paparrazi say.

I've never heard of Pannekoeken, Andie, but they look stunning.  Any chance of making an attempt at a TMX conversion?

I used a mix for this one.   I do have a recipe scribbled on a card that was given to me many years ago.
This site has the identical recipe only with some nifty photos.

One of my guests had never had one prior to this morning.  She said that she could think of many variations, both sweet and savory.

She was the one who ordered the mix while here.  She has two adult sons, back at home, after years of living in Hawaii and while they can cook on the outdoor grill, they "seem" to be helpless in the kitchen.  They have gone on a fishing trip so she decided to have some fun in Las Vegas.
She thinks that if she mixes the batter, she can leave them to heat the pan and put it in the oven...  With regular pancakes they make too much of a mess.
