Yes Judy, not much fat,  had to add a couple of eggs to bind them together.

No idea but probably nothing. Was so zonked I was in bed to 11, then off to school to get kid 1, home, lunch and out in 45 minutes time for K2, back and home for 3 hours before going out to a lantern walk where they are providing bezels, sausages and rolls and a drink. (though not sure if me and the missus will eat that, but the kids certainly will.)

As all of California is socked in today and it is drizzling here with more rain predicted and more of the same for the next few days (an actual rainy season for sure) I have decided that today is a perfect day to make soup.  I am defrosting some chestnuts I steamed and peeled last January so am going to make spicy chestnut soup with a few modifications.
I also have some frozen roasted root vegetables and they too are going into the soup along with some duck stock, found while looking for the chestnuts, so it isn't going to be exactly like the soup on my blog, but I'm confident it will be tasty.

I'm going to make a batch of Farfallina's  Fluffy Rolls  as I tried then a while back and think they will go nicely with the soup.

Satellite shot of California at 6:00 a.m. today.

Made a bimby vanilla version, my post about it is here , and they are oreo mini's  ;)
Edit the cocoa, add 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract, then stir in 1/2 cup crushed oreo's by hand.
.........EAT CAKE!

Well I hosted my cooking demo today and it was great. We had Orange Dreamie... sort of icecream... not sorbet. Hummus dip, a beautiful beetroot and carrot salad, sundried tomato bread and rolls, a sundried tomato, spinach and Shitake mushroom risotto and a chocolate custard.  :) :) All my guests were very impressed witht he machine but no one purchased one BUT I feel that 2 of the ladies here today may purchase in the near future... :) So my cooking has been doen for me thanks to my wonderful consultant... so I can go and make myself a cuppa... :)

Andie I can see why you are getting rain. :D
Maddy the cakes look lovely. Today I've made some date/anzac cookies with no nuts or eggs ir milk. I'll post the recipe and some pizza bases as well as having a lovely morning out shopping with DD. She bought a couple of lovely dresses and some shoes for me for Christmas at Wittner.

I made pasta for the first time with TMX & a pasta maker.  So much easier than using my hands and a wine bottle, distant memories from pre-kids life last century.  My mum has had a pasta maker gathering dust and she's never used it, so I've borrowed it to give it some love.  I haven't been this excited since getting my TMX  :D.  The kids have been playing with the pasta maker for hours, how fun.  The dough recipe from EDC seems perfect.

Today I experimented making salt and vinegar crackers.  Needs more tweaking.  Also made bread and some lentil burgers which were absolutely delicious.

Glad your demo went well, Colleen.  Sounds like a good selection of foods to tempt your guests!

It went really well thanks nazar, lots of compliments with everything on the table. There were 3 diabetics amongst my guests so I had to make sure there were suitable things for them there too.
My menu was all finger food -
Chicken satays (used chicken tenderloin) from the UK Fast & Easy  (used metal skewers, cooked them in the morning, refrigerated then reheated in the oven.
CP's Spicy Pumpkin Dip and Chookies Savoury flat breads.
Tuna stuffed pepper strips - posted
Mini spanakopitas - cooked from frozen. I converted this recipe but used 2 pieces of pastry instead of 1 for each triangle and sprayed with olive oil.
Caramelised onion & mushroom tarts - posted
Denzelmum's Cottage Rolls - cooked from frozen
Baked zucchini sticks with marinara sauce
Apricot & Cherry balls - posted
Low fat creamy chocolate/yoghurt dip with pieces of fruit
SIL bought the cream puffs

I have a bit of this and a bit of that leftover as I always do but that's the cook's reward for spending so much time in the kitchen for the previous 2 days.

Wow JD sounds like you excelled.
We had a party last nigh, 50 people ( cheated and had it catered), the best food.  JKL exclusive caterers, my daughter waitress' for them. All finger food also. Hope you enjoyed your event as much as I .
