For lunch, I tried to make Cape Seed Bread from the EDC. It looked lovely when it came out of the oven, as you can probably see from the photo, but it was really doughy in the middle ??? I followed the recipe exactly, so not sure why that happened.

Amy I had the same problem when I have made EDC Cape Sead bread.

Today I made New York Rye bread and a roast of beef with roast vegies.

Thanks Dashingden. So it might not have been anything I did?

Uni - your scones look great and I have often heard the lemondade scone recipe is so simple but one of the best. We had scones while out today at a cafe and they were fat and crumbly (we had to pay for them too and weren't impressed).

Amy - love reading your comments! Always so interesting and full of enthusiasm! Keep it up! Btw, how did the milo taste compared to normal milo. I have been meaning to make this for ages but still haven't got around to it. Soup looks lovely too!

Thanks Tasty!! :D

The homemade milo was awesome ;D I didn't think anything could come close to milo, so this was a real surprise. When I took the TM lid off after grinding, I felt my eyebrows hit the roof because I was so surprised at how much it looked like real milo. And taste-wise, I would say it is actually better. It has that nutty flavour (weirdly enough :-))) which is really yummy with the chocolately flavour. And you just feel better drinking this, because you know it doesn't have any of that artificial poopy stuff in it ;)
I did use less homemade milo to make the drink than I would have if I was using bought milo, because it looked and smelled very rich. I'm glad I used that little bit less, because it was just right :D

this  homemade  milo is absolutely delicious thanks cathy
l love it sprinkled on  ice cream too
and the kids love it to but leave the gritty bits down the bottom , l get a tsp and eat it and tell them there missing out on the best bits
careful to not grind nuts to much like l did as it all sticks together  like a paste

Working full time, Saturdays is swimming then grocery shopping. Leaves me Sunday to whip up some muffins and a slice for school lunches as well as wash clothes and clean house. I need a MAID.
