I made my first ever lot of bread rolls in my new oven - so exciting!!

I made Isi's easy portuguese rolls.  There were 3 electricians still working in the new kitchen, and I was busy baking bread around them, making sure they didn't step in anything as it was proving in the sun.  The bread smelled so wonderful, and the tradies were so impressed with the gorgeous rolls that came out of the oven.  I didn't let on how easy they were to make.  Offered them warm rolls to go with their lunch - always pays to be friends with the workmen!

Many years ago my Mum told me that if you look after your workmen they will always look after you.  My Dad was a railway man and we lived in a railway house so all maintenance was carried out by the railways. We had the best maintained house in the street as the workers were always happy to come to our house because Mum always cooked for them.

It worked for me too when we had the extension built.  The builder put on 1kg and then knocked a considerable amount off the bill for morning and afternoon teas.

The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Mab and Karen.  wise women. Today was spent mostly in the garden.  Managed a little cooking ;D ;D ;D ;D Made Marmalade from the free Mandarines from the book shop.  Will take them some.  Also made a Rye and Caraway seed sourdough loaf.

:D, thank you Amy....I needn't have bothered though.....the family have decided they hate cream cheese icing and  scraped off the top into the chook feed  :-X
Honestly, all they want is that TM creamy vanilla frosting on EVERYTHING!

How dare they :o That shows no appreciation for your amazing talent!

Great looking bread Chookie :D

Today I made a risotto using all the leftover meat and vegetables from last night's roast. It turned out really good ;D

Oh Maddy what are they thinking? I'd kill them if it we my family, then ban them from an future cupcakes lol

I made Choc chip cookies today, nice but the didn't measure up to my normal cookies. Although I'm pretty sure hubby is happy to take care of them as then are disappearing fast.

Made these, by hand, and ate with Teninas lemon curd posted by Judy. Had a visitor for tea.

Been unpacking: 3 large boxes books today.
Plus loads and loads of washing. Warm and sunny at long last.

I am making Anzac biscuits as 'payment' to my brother for moving my heavy furniture around last night while I stood there and directed. His favourite. Also making mini chicken & vege loaves for dinner :)

Yesterday I bought 5kg of meaty beef bones to turn into stock.  I've roasted them and the veg and am now cooking the first lot in the pc.

I also bought 4 chicken carcasses from Lenards yesterday for $2.75 which will be made into stock tomorrow.

Have also made 2 lots of caramelised garlic paste this morning (in the tm).  :)
