Today I made Turkish Pide which is lovely. I also managed to make the best, pour from the fridge, no yucky skin formation Jaffa custard by completely messing up another recipe. I'd say it's as close to shop bought custard as I've ever had from the TMX.  There's just one problem. I have no idea how I did it! So starts my mission to recreate. Lucky I have chooks, perhaps I'll have to buy a cow!

I shouldn't have looked at this thread ... not allowed to eat today and not allowed to eat anything again until c. 12.00 noon tomorrow!  I'm thinking positive - perhaps I'll lose a kg or two!

I'm sure you will lose weight if you go without food for a whole day Marina but that must be so hard to do  :o

Brumington, good luck with recreating your mistake - these things happen and great recipes are created.

OK Marie.  you will probably be better behaved than my other children.
Karen,  it would be worth a trip to Adelaide just to get some of those Liquorice Bullets.  the Melb. ones don't taste as good.

Oh Chookie, the way to my heart is liquorice. I haven't had liquorice icecream for over 30 years. I will make some as soon as I get home as I don't have the time now.

Michele,  love this.  Did similar,  made Annabel Langbein's vegetable Pakoras.  Had to use 'Eat your Books' as i had a Kholrabi and didn't know how to use it.  Also made a Celery and Leek white sauce with white pepper, to go with Roast Lamb.   Visitors for lunch tomorrow and wont be shopping until Sat.
Made a loaf of bread, 3/4 Laucke German Grain mix and 1/4 white flour.
Made Chicken stock from roast Chicken Carcass .
