Nothing today but yesterday, whilst the forum was down, made the tuna, corn & noodle casserole, pumpkin soup, pizzoccheri soup, the alternative chocolate and some chocolate muffins. Took most up to my sister-in-law who has just come out of hospital.

MJ - THE blog  ;)  http://thermorecipes.blogspot.com/2010/01/making-it-simple-in-2010.html

Yes MJ sorry about that. That's the one I was referring to, thanks TMXer.  Highly recommend as an authentic tasting recipe.  Serve with soy sauce with a few drops of chilli oil... just like Obachan makes (Japanese granny....) except not fried.

Ooh, somehow I missed that recipe! Thanks so much, I'll put that on my ever increasing list of things to make!

Today I made isi's Portuguese rolls as a loaf - half wholemeal and half spelt, I have Judy's curry cooking right now. Been doing housework today.... :-\

A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Back yesterday from N.E Vic.  and have hit the ground running.   First I would like to say THANK YOU for all the good wishes.  We certainly had a great time.  Met some very nice people who live in the region. ;D ;D ;D  Have to say that I didn't miss Thermoman while I was away,  but then it was only 5 days.  Went to Simones at Bright twice and can certainly recommend it.  Not food readily converted to TMX.  Vegetarian visitors for Dinner,  they do eat fish.   So have been making JD's  seafood crepes,  made 30.  Added some smoked salmon.   Picked some beetroot from garden so will make a salad in TMX,  to go with tossed salad from garden.  Might make a dressing in TMX with poppy seeds.   Xmas Pud to follow,  with custard made in TMX.  Brandy added !!!  Cheese from Millawa. I have been convinced that the Forum had had enough of Chookie and wouldn't let me interact any more.  I asked for help and got a message back in Spanish or Portuguese.  Did manage to see a post from Russell which suggested that the site was in trouble,  not just me,  Thanks Russell.  I am going to see if Amanda will help me put an Avatar on for me.  If successful,  it is a drawing that my grand daughter did of me.

Russell , please help me out.  What is it I am trying to say?  Everyone else who has been on this Forum for a while knows that I am an idiot with the computer,  and I need help.  Thanks

Nice to see you back safe and well Chookie. Timely to be away when the forum is down.  I took it personally last time we had a break-down (for a different reason) but I don't let it bother me these days.  If I can get every other site I visit, then I know it's not me or my computer at fault.

Today I have made my curried minced beef, Bron's garlic steamed rice and some mashed potatoes - a choice of either to go with the curry for tea.

Heh sorry my bad. Didn't mean to imply you had said anything wrong. You were exactly right. I was just trying to make a poor attempt at converting your comment to a reference to the movie Avatar for any Sci-Fi geeks like me out there :) I'm also completely off topic for the thread, so I'll reprimand myself and say I won't do it again (but don't hold me to that  :P)

Glad you had a great time Chookie. The first time the forum goes down is always the worst. As Judy said if you can get everything else it must be the forum.
I will look forward to your avatar.

my DH always impatient and now wanting to cook with TM. I had to quickly decide in 10secs what he was going to cook as we were on our way out and calling into supermarket on the way home. Chose a zucchini slice from the vegetarian cookbook. Cooked it up, and made a salad on the side. DD's come home from uni exams tonight and remarked on the wonderful aroma, and DD2 checks the recipe and says "is this a cake or something?". Checking, checking, checking....yes! (sigh)

Oh dear not much for tea now, but DH is now able to make something for morning and afternoon tea. (Luckily DD1 scrambled up a Tuna recipe!) Sometimes the penny has a long way to drop.

Good to see your picture Chookie - sure I'll recognise you when we meet.  ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, sorry that nobody wanted to talk to you.  I received a message saying that there were problems with the forum and then spent half an hour on it so thought that they must have had a virus.  When I got home the forum was working and then 2 hours later it crashed for me too - but then I was able to get in on different computers ????

Oh well - hopefully it's all fixed.

Good to hear you had a good time.

Have been in Melb. most of the day,  but as soon as I got home and saw the Quinces a friend had left at the back door,  I thought of Thermomixer's Quince Paste.   I have made it and it is beautiful.  It is the colour of Quince Jelly but with the intense flavor and texture of Paste.  THANK YOU THERMOMIXER ;D ;D ;D. ;D   I am going to cut it in pieces and vacuum seal it.  I took advice and put it in the sink.  A very good idea.

Chookie, what a beautiful drawing.

I've got some plum jam on the make at the moment as I saw some cheap plums at our get together. It is smelling rather nice.
Then Chicken Cacciatore for dinner, maybe with polenta.

Thanks Chookie - another recipe I need to post here  :-)) :-)) :-))

It tends to work so well in such a short amount of time.

I gave some to Guy Grossi and his team to test for flavour/texture - got the thumbs up. But don't think I would get to the finals of My Kitchen Rules.
