After reading Cookie's comments DH made the meatballs with polenta from the TMX+ magazine for our dinner tonight. I think it is one of my favourite tmx meals ever! The polenta was just so delicious!!!

Judy, I had forgotten what a lovely loaf this is. It has a good texture , not too dense. I had some stone ground organic rye flour, beautiful.
I don't think I could cope with that ice cream, Judy.
Nice work Jams DH.
I made Chicken Marengo in SC.

Beautiful looking loaf Chookie, I love rye bread. Judy I'll take the middle of Chookies loaf, you can have the ends, I'm not an ends person, always save this'd for DH.
Jamberie I will take another look at that magazine, to be honest, they sit on a shelf and barely get looked at with all the other great books and resources available.

Nice loaf Chookie. I made a plain loaf on Saturday, don't know what happened to it but it seemed to sink from the sides in. DH thought it looked as if it was exhaling
Obbie your fudge is looking good.

This morning I made a nice porridge recipe from Donna Hay, called Coffee & date porridge. It was a little too dark to take a photo at the time, but will do so next time as I will make it again.
A bit later I made a Smoked salmon chowder for DH which was lovely from the taste I had.
I had the second serving of a meal I made yesterday called Heatlhy beef stew with spiralized zucchini for lunch. Lovely flavours.
I also made a fudge cake from an email from RecipeTinEats (will post link below).
Very easy to make but even cutting into 12 slices instead of 8, I found the serving sizes too large for this sort of thing. I think it would be perfect to bake in a rectangular tin and then cutting into small squares. This would work well for a gathering and make for a much more enjoyable serving size.
The second photo was taken immediately after frosting and I suggest refrigerating for a few hours after frosting (and before cutting) to allow the frosting to set and make it easier to cut cleanly.
Really nice and is what I ended up having for my dinner.

What a great day of cooking you've had Julie. Your fudge cake looks even fudgier than the original.

Julie, I would love to eat your chowder, beef and chocolate cake. They all look amazing.
I took pity on my family as I haven't baked in weeks. I made a ginger slice similar to CC's ginger crunch, but with oats in the base. I also made a double batch of biscuits with a half eaten box of Special K that no one has been eating. I got sick of it taking up space in the cupboard and made a version of cornflake and choc chip biscuit. Just as well that I made a double batch, as half has already disappeared.
