Well I am pleased to report that he did have a wonderful day.  I had to wait until we were home and cuddled up in "our chair" before he would tell me about his day, but the news was all good.

Now I can concentrate on cooking again.  I am making Macaroni Beef (yummy forum recipe) for tea and perhaps some banana and blueberry fruity dream for dessert. :)

Glad it went well Chelsea, yours were tears of love and we are allowed to have these.

Today I made DD & her family a batch of Rara's double choc muffin tops and a loaf of my pipe bread of which they demolished half the loaf by the end of their tea. The rest of the day GS and I just lazed around having a love-in and reading stories. Are you my Mummy he asked me as soon as his Mum went to work - of course he knows I'm Grandma but he has worked out I take the place of his Mum on babysitting day so I get called Mummy for a while then it is back to Grandma.

Hit and miss cooking today.The Spicy Beef with Corn Scone Cobbler was a success but the marmalade that I tried from the UK Thermomix website didn't quite work.I eventually tipped it into a pan and finished it off on the top of the stove to thicken.I didn't mind as the organic Seville oranges were a bargain from the supermarket.Reduced from £2.43 to 43p, I only used 3 oranges, the remaining fruits were thrown into the freezer to use later.

CC,  I have found that the marmalade made in the TMX doesn't set easily if too much water is added.  You lucky ducky getting Seville oranges,  and so cheap.

I made the protein shake this morning but skipped the egg as being pregnant I don't think I'm meant to have raw egg! hehe

Later on I'll be making garlic rice, buttermilk scones, icecream and possibly a cake/muffin I can hide veges in for DD1 to take to school.

I've just bought 10½ kilos of bananas from Spud Shed for $6. I wasa down there early and they were all bundled up in bags. Out of all those there were only 6 or 7 that were soggy. I have peeled and frozen most of them. Look out banana recipes and icecreams. I must go down there early in future.

Today I have tried 2 new recipes from the forum - farfallina's Banana Chicken curry & Chookies quiche.  Both well worth doing.

Thanks Chookie.You were exactly right,the mixture was far too watery,I will halve the water next time.The three jars of marmalade have set beautifully after finishing off on top of the stove.Couple of jars have been earmarked for friends.

I  made the strawberry and banana icecream from recipecommunity. It's quite nice.

In my TMX, today I've only steamed some wedges and made a batch of pizza sauce from some very ripe tomatoes to get rid of them. Lunch was reheated Chookies quiche, spicy potato wedges (got the idea from MJ's blog but used some of my Spicy Herb Salt from the Indian cookbook pge 26) with sour cream and sweet chilli dipping sauce plus a tossed salad.
