Hally in Tassie we only have 3 terms at the moment but I believe in 2013 we are changing to 4 terms like the rest of Australia. Not sure the date they finish but it is usually the week before Christmas day. And they dont go back till mid febuaury . So they have 8 weeks off which has always been too long.

Lol. Yes for a teacher I think 8 weeks would be well deserved. But for the students I think 8 weeks are too long. should be interesting the new 4 term school year.

I had just got into bed last night when I realised that I needed natural yoghurt for the rogan josh curry I'm making for tea today, so I got up and made some and left it to set in it's incubator overnight.  It's now chilling in the fridge ready for later.

At the moment I have some lemon & carrot marmalade cooking, I just can't stand store bought jams and marmalades anymore, how lucky are we that we can make our own so easily. ;D

Very true. I used to look forward to the summer holidays when I was teaching and didn't have kids. Now my big boy will be home from school and be very BORED!!!

My lovelies I am all for the four terms - have had this system in Qld for years so I would hate to go back to a 3 term year.  There were many whines this year when we needed to suffer 12 weeks for term 1 (yes I know the remainder of the work force works 48 weeks without a break!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but you too could enjoy the wonders of our workplace, afterall schools are simply a reflection of the society in which we live.  The reward of working with future leaders and criminals alike!!!!!!!!! However while there may seem that the last statement is peppered with bitterness, I really enjoy my job.  :)  :)

Just posted it Hally,  it is even nice cold.

johnro,  good teachers deserve a place in Heaven.  I am sure you are one of them as you wouldn't keep doing it if you didn't love all those kids.
