well it did rise in the oven and tasted lovely but it was a bit dense and doughy despite a 50 minute bake. I used Doves Farm malted bread flour (I'm in the UK) and next time I think it needs to be half and half with white flour to be successful.

I glazed with egg and sesame and nigella seeds and the crust was lovely

I have a photo or two but they seem to be too big for me to post

I use Waitrose Organic Malted Grain Bread Flour with great success using Chookies recipe. ;D

Wow your bead looks so good. Why don't mine turn out like that. I need a smaller loaf tin I think is my problem. I have this huge tin which produces long low loafs. Or I need to make a double batch.

Needing to bake some bread today and would love to make a double whammy like you did fundj.

My largest tin is 24cm x 11cm x 10cm deep - will that hold 2 lots of your dough Chookie and can I just put a tray on top to get a square loaf? Maybe it will need to be weighed down with something?
