Today I have planned to cook Turkey, thyme and leek meatloaf. I will have to call it "Turkey Bake" to get it passed DH. I will let you know if my deception works.

Must be a British thing because I've got one of those too!  Or perhaps its a Southern thing as we're only up the coast in Dorset - you flooded btw?

We have a birthday in the house today - Isaac is 6 and its always been tradition that we go to Pizza Hut on birthdays ....  Its a tradition I'd like to change but since daddy is away working and some friends weren't available for a "tea" I didn't think this was the right time

I have great plans for a belated birthday tea on Saturday but I guess I'll have to wait until then and update this thread as necessary   Suffice to say Thelma will be working VERY hard all afternoon on Saturday

I did get the Turkey, thyme and meatloaf passed my DH , but I did make his favourite of roast potatoes to go with it and he liked the "turkey bake".I'm in Buckinghamshire Nik, so the floods didn't affect us and my family in Cornwall live in Falmouth and Truro so they were fine.
Have fun cooking for the Birthday Tea on Saturday and I hope Isaac has a great time.

Well i think i would prefer to have tried KerrynN's creamy chicken and avo fettuchini, but i have had to stick to my menu plan and not go out and buy things which means we are having pasta e fagioli  all well i hope the tweeks make it more enjoyable as i wasnt overly fussed when i had it at my demo but if worst comes to worst i also made Isi's fast and fluffy rolls with garlic and herb philly so they will be awesome (as they always are )

We're having calzone filled with savoury tomatoey mince - no particular recipe, need to write one out!  Yummy and quick, and we can eat it on the run!

I'm planning to do a stir fry turkey dish tonight (coconut, ginger and lemongrass sauce) in the TMX tonight, with steamed jasmine rice.  I only hope that fussy DD1 likes it!

I don't really have a recipe for this, I just throw in whatever I have around as a stir fry (100oC / speed spoon / reverse).  The sauce was just coconut milk, some ginger and lemongrass, with a bit of garlic and chilli, if I remember correctly.  I just threw it all in - sorry!

I steam the rice first, then keep it warm in an insulated server while I quickly do the stir fry, exactly as I would in a wok, but in the TMX as described above.  Sometimes if I'm steaming rice I put coconut cream in with the water, so that the rice infuses with coconut - it's lovely.

I'm sorry I can't be more descriptive, but I hope that this helps.

Yes it does look nice Maddy, would be perfect for our hot weather ATM. 

Oops, forgot to say what we had last night.  Thick cut fillet steaks, rubbed with a little spicy rub (recipe from here), steamed veg and cauli & cheese, and Judy's parmesan potatoes.  Yum.

I am making Butter Chicken with Naan tonight. The dough for the bread has risen beautifully and I am excited to try the butter chicken. I love indian food but could never afford to eat it too much.

We're going to Grandma's house tonight for a good ole Southern style meal - fried chicken, mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, and iced tea - and I'm taking my jelly salad and also making cherry fruity dream with chocolate swirls for dessert!

We're having a roast tonight so that DH has some cold meat for his sandwiches. I'll be glad when school finishes as I don't think he'll take on 10 weeks work again.

Maddy, once again your salads have me salivating!

Tonight we had All in one varoma fish meal. The fish was done in foil with maple syrup and soy sauce (as recommended by a Canadian friend) and it was sooooo nice. The kids loved the sauce so we will def do it again. Served with white and sweet potatoes (personal preferences, lol) and steamed carrot and brocolli.
