I don't post much but lurk a lot and have really been enjoying looking at everyone's kitchens and seeing photos of all the regular posters. I've updated my avatar to quite an old photo of me but couldn't find a more recent one - I now have short blond hair!! I've also tried posting photos of my kitchen so hopefully they'll work. I quickly took the photos before work this morning so there's a little mess around including my green smoothie breakfast that had just been made.

My favourite part is the view out of the kitchen window-we've been blessed with a wetland behind and to the side of our house and quite often while washing the dishes I see a pelican, pair of black swans or ducks swimming around. The ducklings will be out shortly, always a nice sight at the beginning of my day.

I agree:  a kitchen with a view makes a difference.  Love garden, gum trees and blue hills view from my kitchen and family room windows!
Also love the wildlife:  wallaby nibbling on roses  :(  all sorts of birds and parrots coming for a drink in the pond...  Serenity :D

Wonder, my kitchen is usually a lot messier than on my pics  ;)  Kitchens are supposed to be alive, after all!

It's a great workbench, I made sure when I designed the kitchen the kids could sit up and even on the bench while helping me cook. These days they don't help much but we still love it. Fundj you would love on Sunday it was covered in gnocchi!

I've recently converted to green smoothies for breakfast and definitely think I'm feeling better and a little lighter although I've also increased the amount of exercise I do so maybe a combination of both.

Fundj the green smoothies look bad but this is nice:

Fill TM with spinach and bok choy add one glass of water speed 10 for 1 minute

then add 1 punnet of strawberries no need to take green stems off, 1 apple, 1 pear and banana with 1 glass of water speed 10 for 1 minute, then chill tastes quite nice and sweet

Yvette, what sort of quantity does that make and do you drink it all at once? I've been using 1 small banana, 1 small green apple, some blurberries and pineapple when i have it along with a mix of spinach, kale and silverbeet (don't like this but need to use it up!) and that makes enough for my breakfast. Do you notice any differences in how you feel including the smoothies in  your diet? I'm thinking i'm going off coffee and a few other things but think it may be in my mind!!

fundji, I meant to add I was surprised how little you actually taste the greens when you include a banana in the mix and I find it almost too sweet.

Just return from dentist - tried out this smoothie. Thank you, Yvette  :-* :-*   I don't have bok choy on hand, so only a handful of baby spinach from the backyard and as per your recipe.  I used frozen strawberry and add fresh orange juice as well.  It come out reddish colour and so yum!  Made a lot, enough for the family or another good option for detox.

Maybe we should post the recipe under raw section?

Wow, lots of lovely and loved kitchens. We only have a small table just off the kitchen where the 3 of us eat and then a more formal area with a big square jarrah table that seats 8-12. Our kitchen and 2 eating areas and family room are all in the same 'square'. It's 8 metres by 8 metres and has raised ceilings. We love it. It's in the centre of the house and is the centre of the house.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Hi wonder it makes about 1 to 1 and a half litres, it will last up to 3 days before oxidising, I got the recipe from Kylie she is a consultant in Sydney so I can't take credit. You can't taste the greens, it has a nice sweet taste, I have tried several other smoothies and this one is by far the nicest in my opinion. I do feel better when I drink it, just need to make it more regularly so I can have it everyday.

Fundj you only need 1 banana

This page has run away just in the time it took to read update. Lovely to see you and your kitchens Carine, Cuilidh Wonder and thermie crew! So diverse but I'd be happy in anyone of them! Thanks for the info Andie - I've been thinking about this type of stove type. I thought it was European?? Not many over here. So copper bottom saucepans don't work than??
