Lovely day here in Sydney!  I've been trying to use up some of this excess of fruit and veg that I have here!

So far:
Stewed pears for the freezer (go well in cakes)
Grapefruit cordial
Almond and Carrot cake
Vegetable stock

I still need to make a roasted capsicum sauce and then get started on dinner!  And make a BBQ sauce if I don't run out of time.

I've still got lots of grapefruit left so if you know of any good recipes then I'm listening.  Found one for monitor chicken that I might try out this week.
Snappy whilst looking for a recipe to use some prawns that I found in the freezer I found this recipe that includes grapefruit  ;)

Well I did my first ever pot roast. I don't eat meat myself but cook every sunday fr the kids and grandkids and  have just received a bulk order of 30kg of grass fed beef so have to learn how to cook the bits and bobs. I believe it was a success today as the family Sunday lunch.   It was a topside and I ignorantly though I'd just whack it in the pan and hey presto great roast.  But after a quick google realized that this piece of meat is best browned and then slow cooked in liquid as a pot roast   :-\  plan B was to give it a finish up in the P C if necessary but all was good.

For Uni.  :) :) :) :) :)

I need garlic badly but I can only buy it from Argentina or China at the moment and the Argentinian is horrid and I won't buy Chinese as I worry what fertiliser they use.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I was told by my green grocer that Australian garlic should be available soon.

Yes,  Aussie garlic soon.   The Chinese garlic is bleached in stuff like White King.  We put garlic in lots of  dishes as we can grow it here.

I have just made a marinade based on the KFC spice mix with garlic and lemon juice.  Will be cooking with it today and will post if OK.

I used my last garlic & my garlic paste yesterday so no garlic here. I was given 17 bulbs from a friend & they were great.

Will wait until after w/e, might find some in MR.

Would love to give it a go. Do you think it would grow in my 1.5 by 1.5 metre herb garden?  :-\
