Sweet dreams  ;D ;D ;D ;D  They look great

Baking bread in a covered barbecue, gas or charcoal,  is also very nice using a covered cast iron  (plain or enameled) Dutch oven.

Andie - have you seen our Damper? http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2766.msg30577#msg30577

It is often cooked in Dutch ovens with coals under and over it.

Yes please Bron, may as well do it whilst you think about it or we may all forget by winter time.  I'll just print it out and it will be there when I start going through my soup print-outs in a few months time.  Nice to see you have become a fan of isi too.

Isi, your photos are tempting.
Bron, what a great idea, yes please. I also need to make some vegie stock and as we love soup I will do as you have done. We don't mind it in the medium heat, not the 400 plus though.

Great photos and cooking skills isi. I love the way everyone feeds off each other on this forum now.  A big change from what it was like when I joined up just over 12 months ago.

Today  I made Isi's fantastic bread white version and then because  I bought so much discounted cream the other day I decided to make butter. After seven minutes of butterflying on speed  4 I realised that my 1.5 litres of cheap cream was not going to turn to anything. I then retrieved the containers from the bin and saw they were actually light cream with the discount stickers covering that bit. What to do now? I threw in 3 whole eggs, about 150 gms of sugar a spoonful of vanilla essence and and about 50 gms of Victoria dark chocolate cappuccino powder. I cooked it for 7 minutes at 80 degrees on speed one. I have shoved it into the freezer and will let you know if I get ice cream. Another senior moment Judy!

:D :D :D Hope it works out for you Gretchen - I'm sure it will as you are an old hand at making ice-cream.  I hate that when the stickers cover things like that or the use by dates.

I'm going to post here, because I'm proud that I've made anything at all  ;D

The day before yesterday I made rice and a stir fry.  And yesterday I made Isi's Normal Bread.  Delicious.  Thanks so much for sharing, Isi.  Although it did mean that I ate too much bread because it was so nice :D

Last night I cooked tortellini in watercress sauce in the TMX (admittedly it was a bought sauce).

Tonight I had planned to make chicken risotto, but we have guests coming over.  This is one of those times where I wish that the TMX had a larger capacity - oh well.  Desperately trying to think of something easy to do which would fill everyone up.  The problem is that my meat delivery doesn't come until Tuesday, otherwise I'd just pop a casserole in the slow cooker.  Hmmm.  Come on brain, think of something you can do with the chicken breasts ....
As my picture shows, I've suddenly become younger :-)  DD was of the opinion that her picture should be here, not mine!

Why not go with the risotto? I have made enough to feed 6-8 easily with a salad and bread. Oh then again you may have many more coming.

Caroline - can you whip up a soup to give them to start with which will fill them up a bit first and then do the chicken risotto ?  And I'm sure they will appreciate that you've done anything at all given your impending arrival....

Are you counting down the days?   I'm sure everyone on the Forum is  :D :D

6.5 days and counting .....

Um - I think you can take that as a "yes", Katya  :D

Actually, my friend who's coming with her family tonight just rang to say that she's made chicken curry to bring, and could I just do the rice - so that's easy!  I'll quietly get the mini serving of spag bog out of the freezer as an emergency back up for DD who doesn't like spicy food.  But my hope is that when she sees 3 other children tucking in happily, she will too.

I've said that this baby will have spicy food from the get go, so that she's used to it!  It's been a pain in the neck trying to wean DD off bland food, as I can't be bothered to cook 2 meals all the time.  She's just now becoming more adventerous (sorry, brain blank on correct spelling!) and will tolerate things which are mildly spicy (that's her lingo, and it doesn't just mean heat!  Include tangy, and anything else which isn't fairly bland).

Gerty - did you make enough Risotto for 6-8 in the TMX or was it by hand?  If it was in the TMX,  could you tell me how you did that please?  It would be really useful to know.  When I make it it feeds 2 adults and 1 six year old.  Hmmm.

Yes, I saw that.   I don't bake directly in coals - my barbecue is charcoal fired but has a gas starter and is a 3-stage unit and the temp in the firebox/grill section can get to 500° F., great for baking.

Hope all went well for your dinner party.

When I make risotto for 6 I do it in the Thermomix using about 500-600 g of rice and a bit more wine and water. Seems to fill my themoserver and I usually have leftovers.  It means they have eaten plenty or it as really bad :o :o :o

How about tryng Helene's pizza risotto using a mild salami for DD. She might take to it.
