re the recipes no they were a little too basic to post and just made them up as I went..curry chicken bites was just chicken filet cut up inbite size pieces and crumbed like normal ie flour, beaten egg and then crumbs with which i added some curry powder salt and pepper (kids loved them) and the mini quiches was just a basic quiche mix eggs, cream, nutmeg if you wish and salt and pepper and added grated cheese on hte base of puff pastry and chopped up cooked chicken and shallots and seasoned of course in thermie on top and fill up with quiche base mix and cook until golden...as im sure you know you can put basically anything in the base of a quiche then just put the base quiche mix over it and perfect little quiches....i find with kids simple is best...i have some great quiche mixes from sundried tomatoes and mushrooms to marinated lemon and parsley chicken etc etc but kids arent big fans i have found!

Frozzie the b'day party definitely sounded as though you injected a bit of the traditional Oz kids party celebrations - so much fun for all.  :)  :)

Hally you need to go into event organising - specialising in kids parties.  I can relate to the all party-ied out feeling. DD2 and DD3 have b'days 8 days apart and then Xmas 2 weeks later, so Dec was always go-go-go for us - but ever so much fun!!!!!

I always think of my poor Mum as June is her worst month.

My BIL 7th, My sister 13th, My DS 14th, My Dad 15th, My Brother 22nd and Me 23rd ... along with 2 cousins on the 14th, my Aunt on the 20th and another Aunt on the 21st and her Uncle on the 17th. No wonder when she got to mine on the 23rd all she wanted to do was collapse  :o :o :o

Needless to say when I came home and told her I was pregnant she was excited until she asked my due date lol ;D

Your stories are so interesting girls - poor Mum Kathryn, has she given up giving presents to all those relatives yet?
Hally, I agree with Robyn - you should go into business for sure and now you've done the cake decorating course, you could make the cakes as well  ;D
Frozzie - your party sounded great fun.  Do the French people try to emulate what you do, surely their kids would want parties like us Aussies have after going to one of yours.

Chicken & mushrooms in the slow cooker for the mob, done the mashed potato to reheat later, vegies ready to steam. Dessert is a change of plans (made the UK lemon cake dessert, after a failed attempt yesterday of a mud cake when the oven decided to cark it.  Why do these things go wrong at weekends and especially when you are having visitors.  Have also made a batch of strawberry lemonade - if the kids don't like it I will add some spirit to it and have cocktails later  ;) ;)

Well the cupcakes are cooked, made the violet icing this morning, and have just cut out fondant butterflies to top the cakes later.
I really should have made them last night, but fell asleep on the couch  :-))

Just about ready to take Laura out to a chocolate tea room (they make all their own chocolates  8)), and have some girl time  :)
The boys are out to watch 2 footy grand finals, so a Father's day spent watching his loved sport!
Will ice cakes and hopefully post photo's before we leave for dinner.

Oh Robyn, those look amazing! Wish I could reach my hand in and grab one to have with a cup of tea!!  :)

I've been a bit absent from the forum lately - so busy - missing you all so thought I'd pop in and say hi!!  :-* :-* :-*

Today I wanted to make something special for my DH for Father's Day, but he's sick as a dog and won't be eating it today :(  I decided to make a raw strawberry ice cream pie, which I'll pop in the freezer and we'll get out when he's feeling better.  So I've been making some homemade raw chocolate, and a raw vegan strawberry-avocado ice-cream for the filling - next on the list is the raw chocolate crust for the pie. Also made roast and veges. And a horrible mixture for my poor DH out of apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper and ground ginger - ick. :)

Beautiful photo, I love lemon anything (even enjoy cleaning with JD's lemon cleaning paste) these lemon melts I'll add to the list.

This afternoon I've made a quiche florentine (using my last of bought pastry, hoping to learn to make my own and eyeing off the sour cream pastry recipe)  and an apple & calvados clafouti.  Also trying thermomixers carrot salad and make a simple green salads to go with, I won't try and spin dry the lettuce this time.

I was trying to make foodiepeps Moist and Dark Chocolate Cake, and had a cup of brewed coffee cooling down to put in the cake mix.   At the same time I was making a mince and tomato and vegetable mix to top with mashed potato for dinner, and had a cup of beef stock sitting on the bench.  Next thing I know, the coffee is in the mince and vegetable mix, and the beef stock is still on the bench  >:( >:(   Not sure how it will taste, but added the stock anyway and am reducing it down.  Not a good day for multi-tasking  ;)

thanks guys and JD yes was great fun and the kids had a great time the french mums have no desire to copy what I do but they all talk about DS bday party and how much fun it is (but secretly i think they feel I am a little nuts for having so many kids (yes alot for over here lol) and for so long ie lunch and afternoon tea (gouter))...they all want to keep it short and simple.....I just love bday parties oz style even if they are exhausting....its all worth it to see the kids faces.  I usually spend way too much though on little giveaway prizes, lollies, decoration not to mention the food etc lol but its only once a year and its all about creating memories for hte kids!!  In my eyes only blimp was the cake but not to worry...I was the only one disappointed lol!
