Excellent idea Uni.

If you buy a pasta machine,  make sure you have some where in the kitchen where you can screw it to the bench.

A little while ago I made some sticky pork spare ribs by firstly cooking them in my PC for 12 mins, then brushing with a gorgeous sauce and grilling for about 10 mins. 

Wasn't sure how they were going to turn out so thought I'd make them early and if any good will reheat later.  Oh my, after trying one, we both got stuck in, so delicious.  Looks like toasted sandwiches tonight.  :-[    ;D

Goldfish, here's the whole recipe, if you don't have a PC, just do by usual method.  :)

STICKY PORK SPARE RIBS
1 - 1.5kg American style pork spare ribs/I used Aust pork ribs
250ml water
1/3 cup orange marmalade (used home made)
1/3 cup kecap manis
4 cloves garlic crushed
40g fresh ginger, peeled and grated
2 tsp five-spice powder

Prepare tin for oven; Place an oiled wire rack over a large shallow baking dish that has been filled with about 1cm of water, put aside.

Place the 1 cup of water into PC, add ribs. Secure lid and bring to high pressure over high heat.  Once stabilised, cook 15 mins/ or 12 mins for Aust ribs.

Meanwhile combine remaining ingredients in a large bowl.  Preheat grill on highest setting.

Release cooker pressure using the qrm and remove lid.  Drain ribs.

Combine ribs with marmalade mixture.  Place ribs, in single layer on prepared wire rack. 

Grill ribs about 8-10 mins or until browned turning halfway through cooking time and brushing occasionally with remaining marmalade mixture.

Remove from the oven to a chopping board and using a sharp knife, cut into sections.

They look fantastic Julie. After coming back from the US last week we have had our fill of ribs for a little while. I find they are an expensive meal in Australia for a family of 4.

JuLie, my DH would kill for a plate of those ribs.  Not having a PC I guess I could just boil or steam the ribs first. Are your ribs the ones with not much meat on them or did you buy belly pork with the bone still in?

Love ribs, these look great.

On the cruise ship (American) we had ribs, they were the best we have ever had, the meat was lovely & loads of it.

Why do we have such small ones with hardly any meat on???

Do they just have bigger pigs? ???

Judy, yes just boil them until cooked.  When you brush them with the sauce and grill them, that's really only to finish them off and get nice and sticky.
These were the ones with not a lot of meat, but how nice to chomp away on the bones  ;D  I wouldn't mind trying the pork belly ones too as the fat would cook out when doing the pre-boiling, I saw some called pork rashers the other day.

It's worth trying either lot I reckon, we found the sauce had just the right amount of sweetness.  Maybe if store bought orange marmalade is used it may be just a bit sweeter, but I used Chookie's lemon & carrot marmalade which isn't as sweet and was perfect in this.  :D

It might be worth me putting this recipe in the Non TM thread too, will do so a bit later.  :)
