That looks lovely TL. May I ask what brand of soy bacon you use?

I had a lovely one at our Blue Mountains retreat but don't know what brand it was or whether or not it was soy.

Not a lot - just doing a lamb roast for lunch and bringing Mum around.

How was the roast lamb JD?  I bet your Mum enjoyed it.

First time in a long while that I've webered a leg of lamb and it was delicious thanks Katie.  Nice to share it with Mum, I bet they never get lamb roast in her retirement village dining room.

We use Sanitarium - it says Bacon Style Rashes. It's a staple in our house as it is the only thing my daughter would eat (with rice) when she's teething/unwell or simply being a fusspot like today!

Thanks will give it a whirl. I would prefer to use a soy product over the real stuff.

Judy, do you have a Weber Q that you cooked the lamb on? I' e had mine for a week now, and roast lamb was the first thing I cooked. I'm impressed with it so far.

I try and see my Mum everyday except Mondays & Thursdays when she has things on at the village Kim.  It is only just around the corner so not much effort to pop in for a quick visit if I am able to leave Geoff.  Some days I can't but she understands and say she is OK and not to bother with her. She lives in a 1 bedroom independent unit but eats a 2 course meal in the dining room for lunch on Mon - Fri only and would be the only one in the room who eats everything on her plate and then tells the girls serving that it was a lovely meal. She stacks the plates after everyone at her table has finished eating and would do the dishes if they asked her to  :D :D    She never complains about what is given but was once given a survey and asked what type of meals she would like to see come out of the village kitchen.  I filled it out for her - beef stroganoff, goulash, Thai curried chicken, roasts - don't know that they have taken my suggestions on board but they do get roast chicken regularly and sausages which always goes down well with the oldies.  Mums least favourite meal if she had to pick one would be rissoles but she is very easy to get along with.

I use my weber kettle for roasting and use the weberQ for BBQ'ing although obviously you can use the Q for both.  I am just so used to the kettle that I prefer it but then I've never tried a roast in the Q.
